Add password credentials

ServiceNow IT Operations Management and Site Availability Monitoring use password credentials.

  1. Log in to Virtana Service Observability as a user with the Manager role.

  2. Navigate to ADMIN > Credentials, and then click ADD CREDENTIAL.

  3. In the Credential name field, enter a name for your password credential.

  4. (Optional) In the Description field, enter a description for your password credential.

  5. From the Credential type list, select Password.

    The dialog box expands to include fields for specifying password credentials.

  6. (Optional) In the Tags field, select or enter one or more terms to associate with your password credential.

  7. In the Credentials area, add your password credential details.

    1. In the Username field, enter a user account name.

      For example, the name of a user account in a ServiceNow IT Operations Management instance.

    2. In the Password field, enter the password of a user account.

      For example, the password of a user account in a ServiceNow IT Operations Management instance.

  8. Click SAVE.
