Site Availability Monitor template

You can use site availability monitoring (SAM) to monitor the uptime of your cloud-based web applications and notify business and application owners and administrators of problems before they impact your organization. After you set up your SAM connector, you can copy the SAM dashboard template and customize it for your environment. For example, in addition to the included tiles, you might want to add Entity Count tiles to view the total number of URLs, subpages, endpoints, and targets.

The SAM dashboard template includes the following tiles that you can customize for your environment:

Title(s) of template tile Tile type Description
Site Availability Monitoring Site Availability Monitoring (SAM) tile A quick snapshot of the uptime status of your sites.
URL Availability Status Metric Outliers tile A quick way to identify sites which have metric data points that exceed one or more specified thresholds. If subpages have statuses that are outside the configured up codes, they are considered down. You can adjust thresholds in the tile configuration on the dashboard. Select the Actions () menu in the tile, then click Edit to open Tile configuration.
Subpages State Stoplight tile A summary of the state of the subpages as defined by the specified thresholds. You can adjust thresholds in the tile configuration on the dashboard. Select the Actions () menu in the tile, then click Edit to open Tile configuration.
Up Subpages and Down Subpages Metric + number tile Shows the number of reachable or unreachable URL subpages specified in the configuration file.
Up Subpages and Down Subpages Graph tile Displays a diagram of the reachable or unreachable URL subpages that are specified in the configuration file in the current time range.
Connection Time Graph tile Displays a diagram of the time taken to establish a connection to the URL in the current time range.
Events List + Count Events List + Count tile View open events with a severity level of Critical and Warning during the current time range. Set to show both a donut chart and table.
Average Response Time, Max Response Time, and Min Response Time Graph tile Displays a diagram of the average, maximum, or minimum response time among all the up subpages in the current time range.
Subpage Error Codes and Subpage Up Codes Metric Outliers tile Tracks the HTTP error or status code returned by the URL subpage in response to HTTP requests. This is the actual response code. For example, up codes such as 200 and 201 represent successful responses. Response codes such as 404 and 500 represent errors. You can adjust thresholds and define ranges in the tile configuration on the dashboard. Select the Actions () menu in the tile, then click Edit to open Tile configuration.
