2026 updates

Welcome to the 2026 update notes for Collection Zones. This page highlights usability and performance enhancements plus new features.

The May 2026 update includes branding updates, dependency upgrades, security improvements, and fixes for known issues.

Enhancements and maintenance

This update includes the following enhancements and maintenance updates:

  • Added an API to get productionState from deviceRouter in batch.
  • Added global.conf options for managing the oidmap cache.
  • Added Solr healthcheck timeout configuration.
  • Added support for setting production states on components.
  • Added ZenPackAdapter image build support.
  • Enabled zenapi zopes routing by default in zproxy configuration for collection zones (CZ).
  • Ensured HardwareComponent information is sent to cloud.
  • Improved service packaging by moving selected services toward standalone images.
  • Removed collector framework aspects from zensyslog and zentrap services.
  • Updated branding from Zenoss to Virtana, including logos, favicon, and UI elements.
  • Upgraded HBase and OS versions in otsdb-bigtable-image for improved compatibility.
  • Upgraded internal dependencies and components for improved maintainability and compatibility.
  • Upgraded RabbitMQ to version 3.12.1.

Security

This update includes the following security updates:

  • Added Virtana Content-Security-Policy (CSP) headers.

Fixed issues

The following issues were fixed in this update.

Monitoring and visibility

  • The issue that caused monitoring visibility failures for internal services and Resource Monitor data sources has been resolved.
  • The issue that caused event creation to fail when certain characters appeared in device fields has been resolved.
  • The issue that caused graph points to be written during read operations has been fixed.

Email and notifications

  • The issue that caused email notifications to ignore the user's time zone has been fixed.
  • The issue that caused email retry loops to continue after a successful send has been fixed.
  • The issue that caused zenmail to fail on UTF-8 subjects and nested multipart messages has been fixed.

Performance and stability

  • The issue that caused MIB adding and downloading to take approximately 20 minutes has been fixed.
  • The issue that caused hanging subprocesses in zenjobs, zminion, and other areas has been resolved.
  • The issue that caused backup and snapshot timeouts and background task processing stalls has been resolved.

Other fixes

  • The issue that caused zenjobs to produce an "unable to get job description" traceback has been fixed.
  • The mariadb_answering script has been updated to use the mysql client.
  • The zodb dump command issues have been fixed.

Control Center 2.0.0

  • Added docker-registry authentication support for improved security.
  • Updated the ElasticSearch version for the serviced-isvc image to address CVE vulnerabilities.
  • Upgraded the HBase version used by serviced to address CVE vulnerabilities.
